Een nieuwe cocon uit de zee, als een aangespoeld eikapsel van een rog. Een nieuwe levenscyclus begint. Maar waar willen ze zich ontwikkelen? Zijn het zeewezens of landdieren? Of zijn het selkies?

A new cocoon from the sea, like an egg capsule of a ray. A new cycle of life begins. But where do they want to develop? Are they creatures of the sea or land animals? Or are they selkies?

Dit is het derde en laatste deel van Cocon, een bewegingstheaterstuk van Konpaku met John Giskes, Natasja de Lange en Han Koster.

Cocon op het strand - de volgende levensfase

Na het verlaten van de cocon (zie het vorige bericht) en elkaar te hebben geobserveerd, betast en bewonderd, ontstaat agressie. Uiteindelijk zal dat toch leiden tot acceptatie en verbinding.

After leaving the cocoon (see the last post) and observing, feeling and admiring one another, agression is starting to develop. But in the end it it will result into acknowledgment and coherence.

Cocon op het strand - de ontworsteling

De levenscyclus ondergaat noodzakelijke veranderingen, van de ene fase naar de andere. De embryo's in het geboortevlies, de rups die zich verpopt, de mug die zijn larvestadium in het water verlaat. Allen maken een principiële verandering door, gaan over in een nieuwe fase. De cocon biedt een veilig thuis, een plek afgesloten van de wereld, waarin de entiteit groeit en groeit. Die groei is er de oorzaak van dat de eerst zo veilige cocon, beknellend wordt. De wezens in de cocon moeten zich eruit worstelen een nieuw leven tegemoet. (tekst Konpaku/John Giskes)

The cycle of life goes through necessary changes, from one phase to another. The foetus in the birth canal, the caterpillar trying to pupate, the mosquito leaving its larval stage in the water. All undergo a principal change, into a new life. The cocon in which the entity grows, gives shelter and safety; a place hidden from the world outside. But growth makes the once safe cocoon too confined. The creatures in the cocoon have to break free, to get into and experience a new life. (text Konpaku/John Giskes - translation Mick Otten)
