Struggle with the environment

John Giskes trad op in Parijs op 9 augustus met als thema 'Struggle with the environment'. Zie voor meer informatie het vorige bericht.

John Giskes gave a performance in Paris on August 9 with the theme: 'Struggle with the environment'. See the previous post for more details.

About the performance (translated text John Giskes):

The individual lives in a love/hate relationship with its environment. His environment supports food and continuity in life, but is in itself a threat. Poisonous gasses of industrial activity, raging cars, conflicts with others for food.
That leaves traces, physical as well as psychological. The individual creates a past, a history (Fu). The individual becomes richer but in the mean time there is erosion.
A longing arises to an uncomplicated and protected life. But that is all an illusion, because it brings life to a standstill; it suffocates life. And there is no way back to the womb...
